Monday, July 7, 2025–The Power of Prayer: Boldly Before The Throne

Key Verse:

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

— Hebrews 4:16

Rooted Truth:

Prayer isn’t begging from a distant God—it’s drawing near to a Father who welcomes you with mercy and grace.

Faith Story:

Charles Spurgeon, the “Prince of Preachers,” attributed the power of his ministry not to eloquence, but to prayer. Before each sermon, a group of believers would gather beneath the pulpit to pray. Spurgeon called it the “boiler room” of his church and said:

“I would rather teach one man to pray than ten men to preach.”

Spurgeon understood that prayer was not preparation for the battle—it was the battle. And because of Jesus, we don’t pray from a distance. We pray from access. We approach the very throne of heaven with boldness, because our High Priest stands there on our behalf.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Ephesians 3:12 – “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.”

Romans 8:15 – “…you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’”

James 1:5 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God… and it will be given him.”

Daily Practice:

Approach your time of prayer today with boldness. Don’t hold back. Bring your needs, your questions, your praises—speak to God as your Father, not a stranger.

Daily Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for making a way to the Father. I come to You not as a servant, but as a child—boldly, expectantly, humbly. Remind me that I never pray alone. You are always interceding for me. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

Do you pray with confidence or hesitation?

What truths about God might help you approach Him more boldly?

How can you lean into that access this week?
