KEY VERSE
“In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.””
— Isaiah 25:9
ROOTED TRUTH
Every wait with God ends in joy. Not always the way we imagined, and not always on our schedule, but the day will come when we say, “This is the One we waited for.” And on that day, we will see that the waiting was worth it, because He was worth it.
FAITH STORY
Isaiah 25 is a song sung at the end of a long wait. Israel had waited through exile, judgment, silence, and hardship. And Isaiah paints a day when the waiting finally gives way to rejoicing: “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us.”
Notice the tone. It isn’t grudging relief. It’s joy. The people point and say, “This is the LORD.” It is the shout of a people who have finally seen what they hoped for.
Lamentations 3:25–26 says, “The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.” Even in the middle of Jerusalem’s ruin, Jeremiah could say it is good to wait. Because the Lord Himself is the reward.
That is the secret of all biblical waiting. We are not ultimately waiting for a thing: a job, a healing, a circumstance. We are waiting for a Person. Even when the answer we want doesn’t come, He comes, and He is enough.
Paul tells Titus that we wait for “the blessed hope: the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.” The ultimate wait of every believer ends with the face of Christ.
Think about this week. We have seen waiting as growth, as watching, as renewal, as faithfulness over decades, as honest lament, and as active obedience. All of it is leading somewhere. Every wait is a road, and the road leads to Him.
So today, lift your eyes. Whatever you are waiting for, you are not waiting alone, and you are not waiting in vain. The One who promised is faithful. One day we will say with all God’s people, “This is the One we waited for.”

DAILY PRACTICE
Spend a few minutes today in thanksgiving for a past season of waiting that God has already answered. Write down how He showed up. Let that memory fuel your hope for what you’re still waiting on.
DAILY PRAYER
Faithful Father, thank You that every wait ends in You. Thank You for the seasons You have already carried me through. Help me trust You in what is still unresolved, and look forward to the day when I will say, “This is the One I waited for.” Amen.

1. Looking back on this week, what has God taught you about waiting?
2. How does it change your waiting to realize you are waiting for a Person, not just an outcome?
