Key Verse:
“And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.’”
— Luke 14:23
Rooted Truth:
One invitation can change an eternal destiny. God uses ordinary people to extend extraordinary invitations into His Kingdom.
Faith Story:
Edward Kimball was a quiet, faithful Sunday school teacher—not a famous preacher or missionary. But one day, he nervously walked into a Boston shoe store to share the gospel with a teenage boy named Dwight.
That teenager—Dwight L. Moody—would go on to lead thousands to Christ and shake continents with the gospel. But it all started with a simple, awkward, obedient invitation.
We often underestimate the power of one act of obedience. God doesn’t.
Scripture for Deeper Roots:
John 1:40–42 – “He first found his own brother Simon… ‘We have found the Messiah’…”
Romans 10:14 – “How will they believe in Him of whom they have never heard?”
Proverbs 11:30 – “He who wins souls is wise.”
Daily Practice:
Ask the Lord to show you one person you can invite—into a conversation, a church gathering, a Bible study, or simply into your life. Then act on it.
Daily Prayer:
Father, thank You for pursuing me through others who were bold enough to invite me. Give me eyes to see the ones You’ve placed in my life. Let me not miss the moment. Help me to love courageously, speak clearly, and invite boldly. Amen.
Deep Reflection:
• Who first invited you to hear about Jesus? How did it impact your life?
• Is there someone God has put on your heart lately? What’s held you back?
• What would it look like for you to be “God’s invitation” today?
