What was impossible for man was certain for God.

Hudson Taylor, missionary to China, once said:

“There are three stages in the work of God: impossible, difficult, done.”

When we face the impossible, God reminds us: Nothing is too hard for Me.

In 410 A.D., the mighty city of Rome was sacked, sending shockwaves through the world. Many thought civilization itself was collapsing. In response, Augustine wrote his famous work The City of God, reminding believers that while earthly cities crumble, the Kingdom of God is eternal and unshakable.

His words are just as true today. Nations may falter, economies may collapse, and cultures may shift—but God’s Kingdom will endure. That reality anchors our hope and calls us to worship with gratitude and awe.

From then on, his life and preaching burned with one central passion: to see God’s Kingdom come on earth.

Through Wesley’s ministry, revival spread across England, transforming society, fueling missions, and leaving an impact that continues today.

When we pray, “Your kingdom come,” we aren’t asking God to bless our plans—we’re asking Him to take over, to rule, and to display His glory here and now.

Carey lived as an ambassador—his true home was heaven, but his calling was to represent the King on earth.

Jim and Elisabeth Elliot devoted themselves to reaching the unreached Huaorani people of Ecuador. Though Jim and four other missionaries were killed in their first attempts, Elisabeth returned with her daughter to live among the very tribe that had taken her husband’s life.

Her perspective wasn’t driven by bitterness or revenge—it was shaped by eternity. Because of her Kingdom mindset, many Huaorani came to faith in Christ.

When our minds are fixed on heaven, our choices, priorities, and even our responses to suffering change. Kingdom perspective lifts our eyes from the temporary to the eternal.

Elliot lived—and died—with a Kingdom-first mindset. His priorities were not wealth, comfort, or safety but eternal impact. And though his life was cut short, his legacy still bears fruit today.

“If perfect earthly sight were offered me tomorrow I would not accept it. I might not have sung hymns to the praise of God if I had been distracted by the beautiful and interesting things about me.”

The presence of Christ doesn’t always remove the storm—but it always brings peace within it.

Faith Story:

In Mark 4, the disciples found themselves in a furious storm on the Sea of Galilee. Waves crashed into the boat, threatening to sink it—while Jesus slept on a cushion. Terrified, they woke Him: “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

Jesus rose, rebuked the wind, and stilled the sea with a word: “Peace! Be still!” The storm obeyed, and the disciples were left in awe of His power.

The same voice that calmed the storm still speaks peace into our valleys today. His peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of the One who reigns over it.
