Saturday, October 25, 2025–The Fruit Of Righteousness: The Fruit That Remains

Key Verse:

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you,

that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:

that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

— John 15:16

Rooted Truth:

The truest measure of righteousness is fruit that lasts—lives changed for eternity.

Faith Story:

When missionary Jim Elliot gave his life reaching the Huaorani tribe in Ecuador, his death seemed like a tragedy. But years later, the very people who killed him came to know Christ through the witness of his wife and friends.

Jim once wrote in his journal:

“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”

His fruit remains.

The fruit of righteousness isn’t temporary success, reputation, or applause—it’s the eternal impact of a life abiding in Christ. When we invest in truth, love, and people’s souls, our fruit doesn’t fade when we do—it continues to bear witness to God’s glory.

A righteous life leaves behind a trail of grace that heaven remembers forever.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

1 Corinthians 3:14 – “If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.”

Philippians 1:11 – “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.”

Matthew 6:20 – “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…”

Daily Practice:

Reflect on what kind of fruit your life is producing right now. Ask God to help you focus on what lasts—souls, truth, love, faith, and righteousness—over what fades.

Daily Prayer:

Lord, thank You for choosing me to bear fruit that remains. Help me live for eternal purposes, not temporary gain. May every seed I sow in Your name bring forth fruit that glorifies You forever. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

• What parts of your life will still matter in eternity?

• Who has been changed by the fruit of your faith?

• How can you live daily with an eternal mindset, sowing for the next life, not just this one?
