Tuesday, October 23, 2025–The Fruit Of Righteousness: The Fruit Of The Lips

Key Verse:

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually,

that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”

— Hebrews 13:15

Rooted Truth:

A righteous heart produces righteous words—words of praise, gratitude, and truth.

Faith Story:

Corrie ten Boom, who survived the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp, once said:

“There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.”

Even in the darkest conditions, she and her sister Betsie were known for singing hymns of praise. When asked how they could possibly rejoice in such suffering, Corrie answered, “Because Jesus is worthy, not because the circumstance is.”

That’s the fruit of the lips—praise that flows from faith, not feeling. It’s gratitude rooted in God’s goodness, not in our situation. When our hearts are grounded in righteousness, our lips overflow with worship instead of worry, blessing instead of bitterness.

Our words reveal the tree we belong to. If the root is Christ, the fruit will be praise.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

Psalm 34:1 – “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Ephesians 4:29 – “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying…”

Daily Practice:

Use your lips to intentionally build life today—speak encouragement to someone, pray aloud, or sing a hymn of praise. Let gratitude be the overflow of your heart, regardless of your circumstances.

Daily Prayer:

Lord, may the fruit of my lips honor You. Fill my mouth with thanksgiving, my words with grace, and my speech with truth. Let everything I say point others toward Your goodness and glory. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

• Do your words reflect the peace and gratitude of a heart rooted in Christ?

• When was the last time you praised God in difficulty?

• How can you use your voice today to encourage and uplift others?
