Saturday, September 13, 2025–Kingdom First: An Unshakable Kingdom

Key Verse:

“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.”

— Hebrews 12:28

Rooted Truth:

Earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but God’s Kingdom stands forever.

Faith Story:

In 410 A.D., the mighty city of Rome was sacked, sending shockwaves through the world. Many thought civilization itself was collapsing. In response, Augustine wrote his famous work The City of God, reminding believers that while earthly cities crumble, the Kingdom of God is eternal and unshakable.

His words are just as true today. Nations may falter, economies may collapse, and cultures may shift—but God’s Kingdom will endure. That reality anchors our hope and calls us to worship with gratitude and awe.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Daniel 2:44 – “…the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed…”

Psalm 145:13 – “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom…”

Revelation 21:4 – “…death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore…”

Daily Practice:

Take time today to thank God for the unshakable Kingdom you belong to. Write down three earthly fears or uncertainties and surrender them to the eternal security of His reign.

Daily Prayer:

King Jesus, thank You for giving me a place in Your unshakable Kingdom. Keep me from being shaken by the temporary kingdoms of this world, and help me live with reverence, awe, and gratitude for You alone. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

• What “shakings” in your life or the world tempt you to fear?

• How does belonging to God’s eternal Kingdom give you confidence and peace?

• What would it look like to live daily with gratitude for an unshakable Kingdom?
