Wednesday, September 10, 2025–Kingdom First: Kingdom Perspective

Key Verse:

“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”

— Colossians 3:2

Rooted Truth:

Kingdom living begins with Kingdom thinking. Where we set our minds determines how we live our lives.

Faith Story:

Jim and Elisabeth Elliot devoted themselves to reaching the unreached Huaorani people of Ecuador. Though Jim and four other missionaries were killed in their first attempts, Elisabeth returned with her daughter to live among the very tribe that had taken her husband’s life.

Her perspective wasn’t driven by bitterness or revenge—it was shaped by eternity. Because of her Kingdom mindset, many Huaorani came to faith in Christ.

When our minds are fixed on heaven, our choices, priorities, and even our responses to suffering change. Kingdom perspective lifts our eyes from the temporary to the eternal.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

2 Corinthians 4:18 – “…we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen…”

Philippians 3:20 – “But our citizenship is in heaven…”

Romans 12:2 – “…be transformed by the renewal of your mind…”

Daily Practice:

When faced with a decision today—big or small—pause and ask: Am I seeing this from an earthly view or a Kingdom perspective? Adjust your choice with eternity in mind.

Daily Prayer:

Father, lift my eyes from the temporary and fix them on the eternal. Give me a Kingdom perspective that shapes my thoughts, words, and actions today. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

• Where are you most tempted to focus only on earthly things?

• How can a Kingdom mindset reshape the way you view success, suffering, or sacrifice?

• What would change in your daily life if eternity guided every decision?
