Wednesday, August 6, 2025–Called To Go: Boldness in the Face of Fear

Key Verse:

“And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness…”

— Acts 4:29

Rooted Truth:

God doesn’t call us to comfort—He calls us to courage. And He supplies the boldness we need when we step out in faith.

Faith Story:

Richard Wurmbrand, a Romanian pastor imprisoned and tortured for his faith under communist rule, refused to be silent. After years of beatings and solitary confinement, he emerged and declared:

“It was strictly forbidden to preach to other prisoners… so we accepted their terms: we preached, and they beat us. We were happy preaching; they were happy beating us—so everyone was happy.”

Wurmbrand’s fear was real, but his boldness was greater—because his God was greater. His story reminds us that courage doesn’t come from strength—it comes from surrender.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Joshua 1:9 – “Be strong and courageous…”

2 Timothy 1:7 – “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power…”

Ephesians 6:19 – “Pray… that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly…”

Daily Practice:

Identify one area today where fear has kept you silent. Ask God for boldness, and take one step of obedience—even if it’s small.

Daily Prayer:

Lord, I don’t want to live by fear—I want to live by faith. Fill me with boldness, not for my name, but for Yours. Help me speak, serve, and love without hesitation. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

When have you felt fear stop you from sharing Christ? What does boldness look like in your current relationships or community? How can you prepare your heart and mind for courage before the moment comes?
