August 4, 2025–Called To Go: Everyday Mission Fields

Key Verse:

“As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”

— John 20:21

Rooted Truth:

You don’t have to cross an ocean to fulfill the Great Commission—you just have to cross the street.

Faith Story:

Elisabeth Elliot, widow of missionary Jim Elliot, returned to live among the very tribe that killed her husband. But her greatest witness wasn’t just in the jungles of Ecuador—it was in her quiet, daily obedience to Christ.

She once wrote:

“Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.”

Elisabeth knew that missions wasn’t a distant destination—it was a daily decision to be present, intentional, and surrendered.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Matthew 5:14–16 – “You are the light of the world…”

Colossians 4:5–6 – “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders… let your speech always be gracious…”

2 Corinthians 5:20 – “We are ambassadors for Christ…”

Daily Practice:

Look at your neighborhood, school, workplace, or home as a mission field today. Ask: Who needs to see Jesus through me right here, right now?

Daily Prayer:

Lord, I don’t want to miss the mission field You’ve placed me in. Open my eyes to the people around me. Give me a heart that sees, a mouth that speaks love, and a life that reflects Jesus well. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

What relationships in your life are most ripe for gospel impact?

How might your daily routine become part of God’s mission?

What one intentional act can you take today to be a light where you are?
