Key Verse:

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain.”

— 1 Corinthians 15:10

Rooted Truth:

Holiness doesn’t begin with our effort—it begins with God’s grace. You’re not set apart because you’re good, but because He is.

Faith Story:

John Newton, once a slave trader turned pastor and abolitionist, never forgot the mercy that found him. After his conversion, he wrote the most famous hymn in history: “Amazing Grace.” In his old age, he said:

“I am not what I ought to be. I am not what I want to be. I am not what I hope to be. But by the grace of God, I am not what I was.”

Newton’s life became a testimony that no one is too far gone for God to redeem. Grace doesn’t just cleanse—it transforms. It sets us apart not only from sin, but for righteousness.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Titus 2:11–12 – “…the grace of God has appeared… training us to renounce ungodliness…”

Hebrews 10:10 – “…we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

2 Timothy 1:9 – “…who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace…”

Daily Practice:

Instead of trying harder today, lean deeper into grace. When you feel weak, pause and say: “By Your grace, Lord—not mine.” Let His strength shape your holiness.

Daily Prayer:

Father, I thank You that holiness is not earned—it is received through Your grace. Set me apart by Your mercy. Teach me to rest in Your righteousness and to walk in the freedom You’ve purchased. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

Where do you feel pressure to “perform” spiritually?

How does grace set you apart from both sin and self-righteousness?

What would change if you lived like grace was enough?
