Sunday, July13, 2025–Set Apart: A Life Set Apart

Key Verse:

“But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”

— 1 Peter 1:15–16

Rooted Truth:

To be set apart isn’t to be perfect—it’s to be His. Holiness is not isolation from the world, but devotion to the One who made you new.

Faith Story:

Amy Carmichael, missionary to India for over 50 years, lived a life completely set apart for the gospel. She once wrote:

“If I myself dominate myself, if my thoughts revolve around myself… then I know nothing of Calvary love.”

Amy’s holiness wasn’t about appearance—it was about heart posture. She walked away from worldly applause and comforts to love the forgotten and rescue young girls from temple slavery. Her life testified that to be holy is to be wholly His.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Romans 12:1–2 – “…present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God…”

Leviticus 20:26 – “You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples…”

2 Corinthians 7:1 – “…let us cleanse ourselves… bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.”

Daily Practice:

Reflect on areas of your life that still blend in with the world. Ask the Lord to show you where He’s calling you to be set apart—not out of guilt, but out of love for Him.

Daily Prayer:

Father, You are holy—and You have called me to walk in that same holiness. Set my heart apart from anything that distracts or defiles. Shape me by Your Word and fill me with Your Spirit. Make me wholly Yours. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

What does holiness look like in your daily choices?

In what areas do you struggle to live set apart?

How does God’s grace empower you to live differently?
