Wednesday, July 9, 2025–The Power of Prayer: Prayer in the Waiting

Key Verse:

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.”

— Psalm 40:1

Rooted Truth:

Waiting is not wasted when it’s filled with prayer. God is working even in the silence.

Faith Story:

George Müller, known for his remarkable faith and prayer life, operated orphanages that cared for over 10,000 children—without ever asking for a single donation. He simply prayed. Müller once recorded:

“The great point is to never give up until the answer comes. I have been praying for 63 years and 8 months for one man’s conversion. He is not saved yet, but he will be.”

Müller died before seeing that man come to Christ—but the man was saved shortly after his funeral. Prayer in the waiting is not about forcing God’s hand. It’s about trusting His heart.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Isaiah 64:4 – “…no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.”

Lamentations 3:25 – “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”

Romans 8:25 – “But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”

Daily Practice:

Name something you’re waiting on. Bring it to God in prayer—honestly. Don’t rush the process. Let your waiting become a sacred space where God meets you.

Daily Prayer:

Lord, I don’t always understand Your timing, but I trust Your heart. Teach me to wait with hope, to pray with patience, and to rest in the assurance that You hear every word—even when the answer hasn’t come. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

What are you waiting for in this season?

How can prayer reshape your perspective while you wait?

What promises of God can you hold on to in the meantime?
