Key Verse:

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped…”

— Psalm 28:7

Rooted Truth:

God’s strength is not a short burst—it’s the daily, faithful, sustaining power that carries us through.

Faith Story:

Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, endured exhaustion, opposition, and disease while serving in battlefield hospitals during the Crimean War. She kept going, not because she had endless physical strength, but because she was sustained by a deeper mission and a deeper strength. She wrote:

“I can do scarcely anything without being in a passion… but God has never failed me.”

Her determination wasn’t reckless—it was rooted. The work was too much for one woman, yet God’s strength carried her farther than human willpower could ever go. Her life reminds us that divine strength is not just dramatic—it’s dependable.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Isaiah 40:31 – “…they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength…”

2 Corinthians 4:7 – “…we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God…”

Hebrews 10:36 – “For you have need of endurance…”

Daily Practice:

When you feel like quitting today—pause, pray, and remember: You are not alone. Whisper this truth aloud: “The Lord is my strength and my shield.”

Daily Prayer:

God, thank You for sustaining me when I feel spent. Be my steady strength today—help me trust You to carry what I can’t. Keep me faithful, focused, and grounded in Your grace. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

Where do you feel like you’re running out of strength right now?

What would it look like to be carried rather than just pushing through?

How has God sustained you in past seasons?
