Key Verse:

“…for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

— Nehemiah 8:10b

Rooted Truth:

Strength isn’t always found in gritting your teeth—it often flows from the joy of knowing you are held by God.

Faith Story:

George Müller, known for founding orphanages and caring for thousands of children in 19th-century England, faced constant financial pressures. Yet he never asked for donations—he simply prayed. He once said:

“The first great and primary business to which I ought to attend every day is to have my soul happy in the Lord.”

Müller found that strength didn’t come from control or certainty—but from daily joy in God’s presence. When we draw near to the source of joy, we also tap into supernatural strength—strength that carries us through trials, weariness, and unknowns.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Psalm 16:11 – “…in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

Isaiah 12:2 – “…The Lord God is my strength and my song…”

John 15:11 – “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

Daily Practice:

Take a few minutes to thank God—out loud—for the blessings you might overlook. Joy grows when we cultivate gratitude. Let that joy strengthen you as you walk into today.

Daily Prayer:

Lord, fill me with the joy that comes from being Yours. When my heart grows weary or my spirit feels heavy, remind me that Your joy is unshakable. Let it be the strength I need today. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

What often drains your strength and joy?

How might joy in the Lord renew your spirit today?

What spiritual habits help you stay rooted in joy?
