Saturday, June 14, 2025–Hope in the Waiting: Holding On To Hope

Key Verse:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”

— Hebrews 10:23

Rooted Truth:

Hope is not wishful thinking—it’s confident trust in the character of a faithful God.

Faith Story:

Amy Carmichael, a missionary to India who rescued hundreds of girls from temple slavery, once wrote:

“When I cannot write, when I cannot think, when I cannot even pray, I can trust.”

Amy suffered great physical pain and spent the last twenty years of her life mostly bedridden. Yet she continued to write, to mentor, and to radiate the hope she found in Christ. Her faith wasn’t anchored in circumstances—it was rooted in the One who never changes. Her life reminds us that hope doesn’t mean everything feels okay. It means we believe God is still good—even when it’s hard.

Scripture for Deeper Roots:

Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing…”

Lamentations 3:24–26 – “The Lord is my portion… therefore I will hope in him… It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Psalm 62:5–6 – “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation…”

Daily Practice:

Today, speak hope into your heart. Write down one promise of God that you are holding onto. Say it out loud when doubt creeps in. Let it be your anchor today.

Daily Prayer:

God, You are my hope and my portion. Even when I grow weary, I will cling to Your promises. Help me to hold fast and not give up. Remind me that You are faithful and that my hope in You will never be in vain. Amen.

Deep Reflection:

What promises of God bring you the most hope right now?

How can you encourage someone else who’s in a season of waiting?

What would it look like for you to “hold fast” to hope today?
