Key Verse:
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31
Rooted Truth
There are days when strength runs out—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You feel like you’re running on empty, and no amount of effort or encouragement seems to refill the tank. But God’s promise is not to prevent weariness, but to renew us in it.
Isaiah 40:31 offers hope to the weary: those who wait on the Lord will be renewed. Not with a quick boost of energy, but with a deep, sustaining strength that lifts like eagle’s wings and endures through the long road.
To “wait for the Lord” doesn’t mean passive inactivity—it means actively trusting, patiently expecting, and intentionally abiding. It’s believing that God’s timing is perfect, that His presence is enough, and that His promises will come through—especially when we feel weak.
Faith Story
Charles Spurgeon once said:
“The Lord gets His best soldiers out of the highlands of affliction.”
Spurgeon himself battled depression, illness, and criticism throughout his ministry, but he learned to lean into God’s strength, not his own. It was in his weakness that God’s power was most visible—and his endurance became a testimony to countless others.
Scriptures for Deeper Roots
Isaiah 40:29–31 – Strength for the weary
2 Corinthians 12:9 – His power is made perfect in weakness
Psalm 73:26 – God is the strength of my heart
Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
Daily Practice
Take five minutes today to be still before God. Breathe deeply and pray:
“Lord, I am tired, but I wait on You. Renew me.”
Write down one area where you feel most exhausted—then speak this promise over it:
“He will renew my strength.”
Let go of striving, and lean into His sustaining grace.
Daily Prayer
Father, You know the places where I’m worn down. You see the fatigue in my soul and the weight I carry. I wait on You today—not for escape, but for renewal. Let Your strength rise in me. Teach me to walk without fainting and to trust Your timing when I want to run ahead.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
