May 23, 2025-Everyday Moments as Worship

Key Verse:

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Rooted Truth

Worship doesn’t begin and end with a Sunday service. It’s not confined to songs or sermons. According to Scripture, worship touches everything—even the mundane.

Paul tells us that even the simplest actions—like eating and drinking—can glorify God. That means your morning routine, your conversations, your work, your parenting, your rest, your service—all of it can be acts of worship when done with the right heart.

God is not only present in the extraordinary—He’s present in the ordinary. And when we intentionally turn our daily moments into opportunities to honor Him, we transform the mundane into something sacred.

Worship, then, is not an event—it’s a posture. A way of living that says, “God, I want You to be glorified in everything I do.”

Faith Story

Brother Lawrence, a humble monk in 17th-century France, worked in the kitchen of a monastery. Yet his writings in The Practice of the Presence of God have influenced generations.

He wrote:

“We can do little things for God; I turn the cake that is frying on the pan for love of Him.”

His heart was fixed on honoring God in everything, and because of that, his life was saturated with worship—even while washing dishes. His example reminds us that God sees and receives the smallest acts when they’re done for Him.

Scriptures for Deeper Roots

1 Corinthians 10:31 – Do all to the glory of God

Colossians 3:17 – Whatever you do in word or deed, do it in the name of the Lord

Romans 12:1 – Offer your body as a living sacrifice

Psalm 19:14 – Let the words and meditation of my heart be pleasing to You

Daily Practice

Choose one routine task today—something small or ordinary—and offer it to God as worship.

Say a simple prayer before or during it:

“Lord, I do this for Your glory.”

Whether it’s your work, your house chores, or how you treat someone in passing, let your everyday moments become sacred altars of praise.

Daily Prayer

Lord, I want to glorify You not just in the big moments, but in the everyday ones. Teach me to see each task as an opportunity to worship You. Help me to live with intention, with gratitude, and with a heart that seeks to honor You in all things. Be glorified in the way I live today.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Deep Reflection

What ordinary parts of your day do you overlook as opportunities for worship?

How would your routine change if you intentionally invited God into every moment?

What does it mean to “do all to the glory of God” in your current season?
